31 August 2011 - Maidstone Borough Council has decided to trial a 20mph speed limit outside six primary schools. In July Keith met with the Leader of Kent County Council and spoke about the need to introduce 20mph speed limits, especially near schools.

Since becoming an MEP Keith has been championing the introduction of lower speed limits as part of his campaign to reduce the number of road deaths. The primary schools taking part in the trial are Leeds and Bromfield Primary School, Lenham Primary School, St Francis Catholic Primary School, Hunton Church of England Primary School, South Borough Primary School and Allington School.
