Green MEP: ‘Today’s poll is just the latest to show that the people of Britain are not willing to blindly accept the shambolic Brexit a bitter and divided Conservative government is dragging us towards’

Responding to the¬†latest YouGov poll¬†showing the majority of British people support the Greens’ bid to give voters the final say on any Brexit deal, Keith Taylor, MEP for the South East, said:

“Today’s poll is just the latest to show that the people of Britain are not willing to blindly accept the shambolic Brexit a bitter and divided Conservative government is dragging us towards.”

“The only indication Ministers have given the public about the shape of any kind of Brexit future is that it will be hugely economically destructive. The fact the transition period might delay the worst of these impacts until 2020 is of little comfort when so many fundamental questions remain unanswered.”

“It is little wonder then that in poll after the poll voters are making it clear that they want to have the final say on the deal negotiated on their behalf. The EU referendum was supposed to be the start of a democratic process, not the end of democracy. Greens want to give people what they want and what they deserve; the final say on their future.”
