Green MEP and vocal clean air campaigner Keith Taylor has submitted an official response to the consultation on the latest iteration of the UK government's air quality strategy.
The government's response to an air quality crisis that is linked with 50,000 deaths every year in the UK has been subject to several domestic legal challenges and EU legal action.
The previous iterations of the air quality strategy have been 'inadequate' and would have ensured the air we breathe continues to breach EU air pollution limits.
In his response to the consultation, Mr Taylor, a member of the European Parliament's Environment and Public Health Committee, is clear that "not enough has changed" in the updated version and the government is still "apathetic in the face of a toxic crisis."
The full consultation response is below and has been provided in full following requests from constituents looking for guidance on how to complete their own responses to the consultation.
