International Trade and Development
Keith takes a keen interest in international development and trade, and stresses the need to create a more equitable development framework for poorer countries. Keith and the Greens/EFA group are currently campaigning against the ‘Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership’ (also known as ‘TTIP’), a trade deal being negotiated between the EU and the US which has been influenced by corporations from the outset. Keith and the Greens believe that in order to create a fairer, more democratic world, the influence of corporations over global trade deals must be curtailed and trade agreements must instead work for everyday people, whilst respecting environmental limits.
